A northbound train of the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) stopped and offloaded 1,000 passengers due to an electrical failure on Friday afternoon.
At 12:23 p.m., passengers were unloaded at Shaw Station due to electric failure in the train’s motor, an MRT-3 advisory showed.
Passengers, however, were conveyed in the next train, which arrived one minute later.
MRT authorities said one cause of electrical failure was worn out electrical sub-components.
This latest technical glitch was noted as category 3, which means that the train was either “removed without replacement” or that a “cancellation of loops and insertion” was made.
The MRT immediately continued its operations with 14 available running trains by 1:00 p.m. /kga
