RnW Steel eyes 2nd straight victory in D-League

/ 08:05 AM November 17, 2011

THE RnW Steel Masters gun for back-to-back victories as they take on the struggling PC Gilmore today in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Far Eastern University gym.

Head toach Topex Robinson in banking on the talents of his two Fil-Am players, Virgil Buensuceso and Jordan Sanvictores. Buensuceso, a 5-9 point guard, scored 19 points, had seven assists and four steals in his debut while Sanvictores, a wobbly 6-foot-6 center, poured 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter to power RnW Pacific Pipes to a come-from-behind, 80-76 win against Café France.

Café France (0-3) try to recover from their frustrating defeat against RnW when they battle Cobra Energy Drink (0-3) in the first game at 2 p.m. The Iron Men are also coming off from a, 56-70 trashing by Boracay Rum on Tuesay.

PC Gilmore is getting a needed shot in the arm as Fil-Ams Kelly Nabong and Alfred Mandani have secured certificates of recognition from the BID enabling them to finally join the team after missing the first two games.  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
