CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—Coast Guard stations in Zamboanga and Cagayan de Oro have suspended or canceled trips of all types of sea vessels bound for General Santos City, Northern Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon destinations as a safety precaution for the landfall of Tropical Storm “Vinta,” which was expected last night or early today.

In Cagayan de Oro City, the Department of Social Welfare and Development activated a quick response team in preparation for Vinta’s landfall.

In a statement, the shipping company 2Go Travel said “safety is of utmost importance.” —JIGGER JERUSALEM
