Expect traffic to be heavy on Dec. 23 in Muntinlupa City which will be hosting the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) “Parade of Stars.”
In a traffic advisory, the Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau said the parade would start at 2 p.m. at the Muntinlupa Sports Center in Tunasan, all the way to the Filinvest event grounds in Alabang, via Centennial Road and National Road.
The stretch of National Road from Susana Heights to Alabang will be closed to motorists from noon onwards. It will be opened as soon as the parade ends.
Motorists were advised to take alternate routes:
For vehicles coming from Tunasan, San Pedro and Biñan in Laguna going north via National Road: Take Susana Heights Access Road entry to South Luzon Expressway;
All vehicles from Poblacion: Take Daang Hari Road via Katarungan Village;
All vehicles coming from Soldiers Hills and nearby villages: Take Cares Access Road and follow directional signs provided along the route;
All vehicles coming from Las Piñas and BF Homes going to Alabang, Manila or further south: From Alabang-Zapote Road, turn right on Investment Drive going to Daang Hari, straight to SLEx or Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway to point of destination; and
All vehicles coming from East Service Road going to south via National Road: Turn left on Montillano Street, then right on Baybayin (Coastal Road) to point of destination.
The Muntinlupa police advised those who want to watch the parade against bringing prohibited items, including firearms, explosives, bladed objects, metallic objects, backpacks and water canisters.
MMFF chair Tim Orbos, who is also the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority general manager, said this Muntinlupa parade was in line with the agency’s move to rotate the hosting of the event among Metro Manila’s cities and municipality.
