Cebu Pacific cancels domestic flights ahead of ‘Vinta’ landfall

Ahead of Tropical Storm Vinta’s expected landfall in Mindanao, Cebu Pacific has decided to cancel some of its domestic flights scheduled for Friday (December 22).

In a travel advisory posted late Thursday, the budget airline declared the following flights as cancelled due to “unfavorable and unsafe” weather conditions:

Vinta was expected to make landfall over Surigao del Sur between late Thursday night and early Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its 11:00 p.m. severe weather bulletin, Pagasa said Vinta has intensified into a “severe” tropical storm and would bring moderate to heavy rains over several areas in Visayas and Mindanao.
