Duterte orders travel ban on executive officials

DAVAO CITY—President Duterte on Thursday said officials under the executive department would no longer be allowed foreign travels starting January 1.

The travel ban would not cover diplomats and those with valid reasons, such as death of a family member.


He warned that those who would defy the order would be fired.

But Duterte said he could not prevent members of Congress and the judiciary from travelling abroad if they wanted to. Frinston Lim INQ
