Makati court resets ruling on drug case vs 2 Canadians

/ 09:50 AM December 21, 2017

The Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 62 has postponed to another date its ruling on the case filed against two Canadian nationals, who were arrested during simultaneous raids in 2014 where P100 million worth of shabu and ecstacy were confiscated.

In an order released on Thursday, Judge Selma Alaras rescheduled the promulgation on the case for January 19.

Alaras said she needed to study the case further because she has just recently assumed the position as acting judge of RTC Branch 62. The original judge of Branch 62 has retired.

The two Canadian nationals were identified as James Clayton Riach and Ali Memar Mortazavi Shirazi, who are both out on bail since 2015.       /kga
