The 20-year-old tricycle driver who was shot last Tuesday afternoon near a condominium in Mandaluyong City has died.
Police said on Wednesday that the victim, John Paul Domingo, who was shot at least once in the chest, died later at the Mandaluyong City Medical Center.
On Tuesday, Domingo was driving his tricycle when two masked men on a motorcycle shot him near a condominium in Barangay Hulo, according to Mandaluyong City Police chief Senior Supt. Moises Villaceran.
Villaceran said Domingo was not on the barangay watch list.
Police investigators are currently requesting the management of the condominium a copy of its closed circuit television recording which might have captured the incident, the police chief said.
Probers are still determining the motive behind the killing.
According to officials of Barangay Hulo, this was the 12th death under investigation case in their area.
Last Sept. 23, Domingo’s relative, 27-year-old tricycle driver Jade Manuel Domingo, was shot in the face and killed by four unidentified men on motorbikes just across the Barangay Hulo police community precinct.
Meanwhile, in August, Chief Insp. Hoover Pascual, a former chief of the San Juan City Police anti-illegal drugs unit, and his son were also shot dead by gunmen on white van on Coronado Street.
