4 hurt in Novaliches fire

Four persons, including two firefighters, were hurt after a fire razed on Wednesday a residential and commercial area near a public market in Novaliches, Quezon City.

A Radyo Inquirer 990AM report said that the fire started around 8:00 a.m. near Sauyo market in Barangay Bagbag, and reached 4th alarm 14 minutes after. The fire was declared under control at around 9:00 a.m., and eventually put out 50 minutes later.

Those injured were identified as residents as Darwin Tagama and Rizalina Bayola; and firemen as FO1 Augusto Cariaga and FO3 Darnayla Adonis.

According to initial investigations by the Quezon City Fire Department (QCFD), the blaze broke out from the residence of a certain Renante Llamis.

Authorities said the fire may have damaged around P300,000 worth of assets.

They also said that at least 18 fire trucks responded to the scene.                /kga
