Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has authorized the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) to extend assistance to possible victims of Dengvaxia-related illnesses and deaths.
“The PAO through Chief Public Attorney Persida V. Rueda-Acosta is hereby authorized and directed to extend free legal assistance in civil, criminal and administrative cases to all possible victims of Dengvaxia-related injuries, illnesses and deaths,” Aguirre stated in a Department Order 792 made public on Tuesday.
Aguirre met with Acosta, members of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) as well as parents of two children who died months after reportedly receiving the anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia. /jpv
