Central Luzon cops warned vs firing guns during holidays

/ 05:15 AM December 19, 2017

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — More than 10,000 policemen in Central Luzon have been ordered not to fire their guns during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

On Monday, Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, regional police director, warned he would arrest policemen and officers caught indiscriminately firing their guns during the holidays.

He also ordered policemen in the provinces of Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales to watch out for indiscriminate firing by soldiers and security guards as well as civilians.

Corpus directed provincial police directors to help the Department of Health enforce its “no firecracker casualty target” by establishing common firecracker zones and making sure only legal firecrackers are set off there. —Tonette Orejas
