December is National Volunteer Month by virtue of Proclamation No. 55 signed on Dec. 5, 1998, by then President Joseph Estrada.

The Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency, which holds office at Philippine Sugar Center Building on North Avenue, Quezon City, is tasked to oversee the celebration. –Marielle Medina
