‘Urduja’ forces 675 families to evacuate in Capiz

ILOILO CITY—Heavy rains brought by Typhon Urduja flooded mostly rice fields and prompted the evacuation of hundreds of families in Capiz.

At least 675 families or 3,213 individuals remained in evacuation centers or private houses in Capiz as of 11 a.m. Sunday, according to a report the Capiz Provincial Disasters Risk and Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO).

The evacuees were from Roxas City, the provincial capital, and the municipalities of Cuartero, Dao, Dumarao, Maayon, Sigma, Mambusao, Panay, Panitan and Dumalag.

No casualties have been reported.
