Dec. 18

Honey Festival

A festival in Bacnotan, La Union province, that showcases one of the town’s major products, “diro,” or honey. The bee colony serves as a metaphor of the unity of the people of Bacnotan, according to local officials.

Dec. 19 to 20

Panagyaman Festival

Residents of Balaoan, La Union province, give thanks during their town fiesta for their bountiful harvest. The creativity and ingenuity of Ilocanos are put on display. The festival is also highlighted by street dancing, beauty pageant and people’s night.

Dec. 23

Dagitab Festival

The city of Naga, known as an industrial hub and the Christmas capital of Cebu province, celebrates the festival of light or “dagitab.” The event highlights Naga as home of major electric utility provider Korean Electric Power Corp.
