LEGAZPI CITY—The local government of Albay has ordered an overnight evacuation of the residents living in flood, landslide, storm surge coastal areas and in houses made of light materials on Saturday.

In the advisory, Gov. Al Francis Bichara advised the local disaster officials in the province to activate and execute their respective local risk reduction plans based on their judgment.

“This is to protect the vulnerable families since the province is at the nearest distance. This is for safety of the residents tonight,” Cedric Daep, chief of Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office said.

Since 8 a.m., at least 1,028 families or 5,077 persons have been evacuated in the towns of Manito, Guinobatan, Malilipot and Ligao City. # Ma. April Mier, @MaAprilMierINQ, Inquirer Southern Luzon
