Oriental Mindoro boat trips canceled due to ‘Urduja’

CITY OF CALAPAN—Boat trips going to and from Oriental Mindoro provinces,  were canceled Saturday morning as Tropical Storm “Urduja” continued to threaten Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas.

Boat trips from Oriental Mindoro ports to Batangas have been canceled since 11 a.m. after the state weather bureau raised storm signal number 1 over Batangas.

Calapan police port area commander for security Emerson Marasigan said

Cargo vehicles inside Calapan port might be pulled out, said Marasigan.

Earlier, boat trips connecting Mindoro to Caticlan have been suspended.

Roxas Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction Office said storm signal number 1 raised over Antique yesterday caused them to cancel boat trips at Danggay port. Stranded there were 580 passengers, 36 private vehicles, 16 buses and 40 trucks.# Madonna T. Virola, @mvirolaINQ, Inquirer Southern Luzon
