Fire guts motorcycle storage house in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—A fire of still unknown origin gutted the storage building of a store selling motorcycle parts, and spread to a food park in this Pampanga capital on Friday.

No one was hurt.

The fire at the warehouse of LM Motorcycles broke out around 9:30 a.m.

Fire trucks from volunteer groups and the local governments of Lubao, Masantol, Guagua and Bacolor responded, extinguishing the blaze at 12:15 p.m., according to Maj. Roderick Marquez, chief of the Bureau of Fire Protection in the city.

Five kiosks at a nearby food park were also destroyed.

The burning storage facility was 50 meters away from a gas station and less than 100 meters from the city hall annex in Heroes Hall.

Fire investigators are assessing the damages.

It was the second major fire in the city after the Oct. 12 blaze that destroyed a three-story building in the city proper. Tonette Orejas INQ
