Drunk cop, couple killed in Nueva Vizcaya gunplay
TUGUEGARAO CITY — A drunk policeman gunned down two people and was killed by responding policemen in Dupax del Sur town in Nueva Vizcaya province on Tuesday.
Chief Insp. Giovanni Cejes, provincial police spokesperson, identified the fatalities as PO3 Jerwin Goze, 38; Joseph Agravante, 29, and Edeliza Mae Manuel, 26. Agravante was reportedly the boyfriend of Manuel.
Probers said Goze, a member of the Dupax del Sur police, was drunk when he went to the house of Simplicio Agravante Tuesday. Agravante and Manuel were at the house when Goze arrived.
The policeman was reportedly looking for his estranged girlfriend, the sister of Joseph.
When Goze did not find his girlfriend at the house, he went on a rage and turned his ire on the couple by gunning them down with an M-16 assault rifle. Joseph was killed instantly, while Manuel died on the way to the hospital.
