President Rodrigo Duterte will appoint Philippine National Police (PNP) Dir. Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa as the next chief of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Duterte made the announcement during a Christmas Party with members of the of the Malacañang Press Corps on Tuesday night.
“Yes,” Duterte responded when asked if Dela Rosa would be the next head of the BuCor.
Dela Rosa is set to retire on January 21, 2018.
On Tuesday, the nation’s top cop said Duterte has offered him to lead an agency where “everyone else failed.”
“Sinabihan ako ni Presidente kung ano pupuntahan ko pero napakahirap na trabaho nyan. Everyone failed in that agency. Bahala na kayo mag-isip,” Dela Rosa told reporters. /kga
