Three more incumbent justices are expected to testify against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, House Committee on Justice Chairman Reynaldo Umali said on Tuesday.

Umali said Associate Justice Mariano Del Castillo will testify when the committee resumes its hearing on the impeachment case against Sereno.

“Tatlong justices pa ng Supreme Court ang nagpahitawag na sila ay willing to testify,” Umali said in a radio interview with Radio Inquirer 990AM. He, however, did not name the other justices.

“Kapag nangyari po ito, majority ng Supreme Court ay parang hindi na natutuwa sa pamamalakad ng ating Punong Mahistrado,” Umali added.

“We really need to exact accountability,” Umali added.

Three incumbent Supreme Court Associate Justices – Teresita Leonardo De Castro, Francis Jardeleza and Noel Tijam –  have already testified before the House Committee on Justice. Retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Arturo Brion also testified at the panel last Monday.
