The police said Wednesday it would invite radio disc jockey Angelika Schmeing-Cruz, more popularly known as Angelicopter, to come in for questioning as they continue to look for clues to help them identify the man who shot Talk ‘N Text cager Ali Peek.

Senior Superintendent Armando Bolalin, Mandaluyong City Police chief, told the Inquirer that he was hopeful that Cruz, who is also a courtside reporter for the Philippine Basketball Association, could provide them with valuable information since she was in the area 10 to 15 minutes before Peek was shot.

He said that he had tasked the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to extend the invitation to the reporter.

“She was there before [Peek was shot]. They were filming. We are hopeful there’s something she can tell us,” Bolalin added.

According to him, police probers were examining a copy of the footage filmed by Cruz’s camera crew to see if the gunman was included in any of the shots.

Last week, CIDG agents conducted a follow-up operation, which turned up what could be useful information although Bolalin said they still had to verify it.
