Early release of 13th month pay pushed

/ 07:00 AM December 12, 2017

The Federation of Free Workers (FFW) appealed to employers to release the 13th month pay of their employees early.

“Even if employers have until the 24th to release their employees’ 13th month pay, in the true spirit of Christmas, we are appealing to employers to release this now,” said Julius Cainglet, FFW vice president for research, advocacy and partnerships.

“This [will] give workers enough time to buy quality Christmas goods and gifts for the family that are well thought of as they would not be under pressure from the rush,” he added. —Tina G. Santos
