After a series of debates and meetings between House and Senate lawmakers, the comprehensive tax reform package is finally up for ratification on Tuesday.
House ways and means committee chairperson Dakila Cua confirmed to House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas on Monday that the tax reform bill is ready to be subjected for ratification.
“Boss, we have closed the bicam already. Congrats to your leadership of the 17th Congress for the passage of another landmark legislation,” Cua said in a text message to the House leadership.
Cua was referring to the bicameral conference committee, which had been holding meetings to reconcile the disagreeing provisions in the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) bill.
