The appointment paper of Romeo Barza
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed as Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeals one of its magistrates who voted to dismiss the petition of Senator Leila De Lima which sought to stop the illegal drug trade probe against her.
The appointment letter dated Dec. 8 which was received by the Supreme Court Monday stated that Associate Justice Romeo Barza has been designated as Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeals.
He will take the place of Associate Justice Andres Reyes Jr. who was also promoted to the Supreme Court earlier this year.
