Brother of ex-justice who was linked to Napoles named CA justice

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed the brother of former Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Gregory Ong to the Court of Appeals.
In a transmittal letter sent to Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, Atty. Walter S. Ong will fill the post vacated Associate Justice Noel Tijam who was appointed to the Supreme Court last March.
He was a graduate of Ateneo School of Law.
His brother was dismissed by the Supreme Court in 2014 over links to alleged pork barrel fund scam queen Janet Lim-Napoles.
In a separate transmittal letter, Duterte appointed Maryann E. Corpus-Mañalac as an Associate Justice of the Sandiganbayan.
Corpus-Mañalac is the Judge of Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 141 who issued the vacate order against Sunvar Realty Development Corp. from the Mile Long property to the Sandiganbayan.
