Congress might have to move its Christmas break to December 15 to deliberate on President Rodrigo Duterte’s request to extend martial law in Mindanao for one more year, House Majority Leader Rodolfo Fariñas said on Monday.
“Our session officially ends on Friday, December 15; hence, we may have a joint session on Thursday or Friday as part of the Second Regular Session, without need of a special session,” Fariñas said in a text message to reporters.
The Senate and House of Representatives were scheduled to adjourn session on December 13.
