He was invited as a special guest but he instantly became an entertainer as well.
President Rodrigo Duterte belts out his favorite song “Ikaw” with singer Jonalyn Viray during the 84th anniversary of the Department of Labor (DOLE) in a mall in Bulacan.
Before Duterte delivered his speech, Viray went onstage and sang “Ikaw” to entertain Duterte and the audience.
The President was seen smiling while hearing the music but eventually stood up from his seat and joined Viray in singing the song up on the stage.
This was not the first time Duterte was seen singing “Ikaw” in public. During the gala dinner for the guests at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit last November, Duterte also sang the same song in front of regional and world leaders, saying he did it upon the prodding of United States President Donald Trump.
Duterte also sang the same song during his visit abroad particularly during his meeting with the Filipino community in other countries. /jpv
