For the first time in its history, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will hold its “Parade of Stars” in Muntinlupa City in an effort to bring the annual celebration to different parts of the capital.
MMFF chair Tim Orbos, who is also general manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, said the decision to move the parade out of the traditional route on Roxas Boulevard in Manila would give other local government units in the metro a chance to host the star-studded event.
Muntinlupa is hosting the MMFF parade as one of the highlights of its centennial celebration.
The Dec. 23 parade will start at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex, proceed toward Buendia Street and Centennial Avenue, and pass through the National Road from Barangay Tunasan to Alabang.
It will then enter Filinvest City via Corporate Avenue and Bridgeway, and end at Filinvest Event Grounds-Block 30.
The Muntinlupa city government on Tuesday advised motorists to take alternative routes on the day of the parade, especially since the National Road will be closed to traffic from noon onwards.
The following films make up this year’s entries to the MMFF: “Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad,” “Ang Panday,” “All of You,” “Deadma Walking,” “Siargao,” “Haunted Forest” and “Ang Larawan.” —JOVIC YEE
