Aquino delays trip to Indonesia to tackle issue over Arroyo’s bid to leave country

MANILA, Philippines—President Benigno Aquino has delayed for one day his departure for Bali, Indonesia, amidst the ongoing clash between Malacañang and the Supreme Court over former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s bid to go abroad for treatment.

The Palace announced on Wednesday that Aquino has reset his departure for Bali to Thursday morning.  The President will be attending the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit there.

Aquino was previously scheduled to leave at 3 p.m. Wednesday after meeting with US State Secretary Hillary Clinton.
