MMDA gets body cameras to equip traffic enforcers
Traffic enforcers of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) would soon be donning body cameras to boost their capabilities in the management and monitoring of traffic flow in the metropolis.
On Thursday, MMDA chairman Danny Lim presented to the media the 20 high-definition body cameras in a press briefing held at their headquarters along Edsa.
“Malaking bagay ito. Sa totoo lang, matagal na tong nasa wishlist ng mga pulis natin,” Lim said as he credited a computer and technology company for the donation.
The body cameras, Lim said, would further help traffic enforcers in apprehending not only motorists, who violate rules, but also MMDA personnel who unlawfully solicit from motorists.
“Kapag may nakuha yung mga camerang yan, makakatulong. Kapag may kotong, alam natin,” Lim said.
