PNP not inclined to halt operations vs Reds

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is not inclined to suspend police operations against communist rebels despite the upcoming holiday season.

The statement came after President Rodrigo Duterte’s declared the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) and its armed counterpart, New People’s Army (NPA), as terror groups on Tuesday.

“Alam natin na ito yung istilo nila, double talk, makikipag-usap, pero umaatake sila,” PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos said in a press briefing on Wednesday.

“Ang polisya we don’t talk to the terror groups no, yung Christmas cease fire kasi  the civilians naman yun. So kung patuloy sila let’s go after them,” he added.
