A 44-year-old architect from Imus, Cavite was found dead lying near the entrance of a restaurant on Meralco Avenue in Pasig City on Monday morning, according to a report sent to Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula, chief of the Eastern Police District.
Security guard Enrico Initia told police he first saw the man, identified later as 44-year-old Virgilio Lontayao, coming from the direction of the Metrowalk Commercial Complex at around 1 a.m.
Initia, who was roving around the area, said the man appeared weak. The man then vomited near the facade of Kuys Family KTV and Restaurant before going over to the stairs of the restaurant, where he took a rest.
According to the police report, Initia ignored Lontayao. But during the time he returned to the area, at around 5 a.m., he saw the the man lying face down on the floor.
Initia tried to wake up Lantayao, but he was no longer responding.
Lontayao’s son was informed by contacting him through Facebook, Sapitula said.
Scene of the Crime Operatives who examined the victim’s body found no external injuries. However, they found a ziplock bag containing dried marijuana leaves from the victim, the report said.
The ziplock bag was then turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Quezon City.
As of posting time, investigators were still trying to determine Lontayao’s cause of death. /atm
