FDA suspends sale, distribution of Dengvaxia
The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has suspended the sale, distribution, and marketing of the anti-dengue vaccine Dengvaxia in the Philippines, according to a TV news report.
The report aired over at GMA7’s ‘Unang Hirit’ said FDA issued the suspension order to Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccine’s manufacturer, on Tuesday morning.
Sanofi earlier disclosed possible harmful effects on children who’ve been administered the vaccine but who have not contracted dengue.
The government has initiated a series of probes into the case. /au
