CANDON CITY — The country’s festivals were featured in a glowing parade on Saturday when 21 Ilocos Sur towns depicted them in the city’s annual electric float parade.

The Santa Cruz town entry was highlighted by a huge drum, surrounded by statuettes of the Sto. Niño and the Señorita Feria de Candon that glowed as the float crawled downtown Candon.

A representation of the Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City, it won the top prize in the 13th Feria de Candon celebration.

Feria de Candon commemorates the first exposition held in 1892, the first trade exhibit put up in the Ilocos region.

To portray the Sandugo Festival of Tagbilaran City, Santiago town displayed a float shaped like a boat. Each part of the boat was illuminated by different colored lights. This entry won second place.
