/ 05:06 AM December 02, 2017

A man was killed by a jealous man who believed that the victim was having an affair with his wife.

Franque Sambo, a carpenter and native of Ilocos Norte province, died on Thursday in Caloocan City, due to multiple stab wounds in the back.

In a report to Caloocan police chief, Senior Supt. Jemar Modequillo, Sambo was walking on Package 1 and Package 3 in Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, around 10 a.m. when tricycle driver Mario Gumama stabbed him repeatedly with a kitchen knife.

Sambo died on the spot while Gumama escaped in his tricycle.

He was later identified and arrested by the police with the help of the tricycle operator, Bagong Silang Development Cooperative.

The killing appeared to be motivated by jealousy as Gumama told probers that Sambo was having an affair with his wife.

The police, however, said there was no confirmation of this.

Gumama faces murder charges.
