Seagal joins Duterte in visit to soldiers in Jolo
Hollywood actor Steven Seagal accompanied President Rodrigo Duterte in his visit to government troops in Jolo, Sulu on Friday and expressed support for the chief executive’s fight against illegal drugs and other crimes.
Seagal thanked soldiers for keeping the country safe and reminded them that the big issues the country faces, while winnable, cannot be eradicated overnight.
“We don’t win this battle today; we don’t win this battle tomorrow. This is a fight that’s gonna be a long fight but the idea is to annihilate the enemy … everyday. We have to say to yourself this isn’t gonna be over today it’s gonna be a long battle,” Seagal said in his speech.
“We have kidnapping, narco-trafficking, human trafficking, organ trafficking and terrorism. These are the big things we are faced in the Philippines,” the actor added.
Seagal, an action star known for his police and military roles, has openly supported Duterte and his crackdown against illegal drugs.
