As the holiday rush begins, Grab Philippines asked the public on Friday for extra patience when booking for their ride because of the huge demand this season.
Grab Philippines head Brian Cu appealed to the public to expect longer waiting times, lack of cars, and higher booking rates.
“Please (be) a bit more patient. And because of the surge function, prices may go up because of the sheer demand,” Cu said during the opening of Grab’s call center in Makati City.
“But of course, Grab will be a responsible TNC (transport network company) and adjust if those prices become exorbitant too long throughout the day,” he added.
Cu said Grab was expecting a 30-percent increase in demand this holiday season.
But because of the suspension in the hiring of drivers, Cu said the company would have to stretch the supply side by providing drivers more incentives and urging part-timers to go full-time at this time of the year. /kga
