One to two tropical cyclones are expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility this December, the state weather bureau said on Friday.
Weather specialist Obet Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the weather disturbances could traverse Visayas or Luzon.
“Kadalasan ang track tumatama sa Visayas or nagre-recurve sa northeastern part. May pagkakataon na gitnang bahagi ng Luzon,” he explained.
But the average track of cyclones this time of the year is in Visayas or Northern Mindanao, according to Badrina.
The last tropical cyclone to enter the country was tropical storm “Tino” in mid-November. /kga
