A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
According to a latest bulletin released by Philvocs, the earthquake happened at 9:16 a.m. and it was tectonic in origin located south of Caraga Region.
Phivolcs said the depth of the tremor reached 23 kilometers.
In Bislig, Surigao del Sur, the earthquake was recorded at intensity III.
There was no expected damage generated by the quake, but the agency warned the public to expect aftershocks. /jpv
