100 patrol vehicles donated by Japan to the Philippine National Police in Camp Crame.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday received 100 patrol vehicles donated by the Japanese government.
Japanese Ambassador Koji Haneda turned over 87 Mitsubishi Monteros and 13 Nissan Urvans, worth some P210 million during rites at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Japan also donated six bomb suits, six ballistic shields, 440 bullet proof vests and 440 ballistic helmets.
The vehicles would be issued to police stations in highly urbanized cities for patrols.
The suits and shields would be for members of the PNP-Explosive Ordnance Detection Unit and the vests and helmets would be for policemen involved in antidrug and antiterror operations. —Jerome Aning
