Two foreign businessmen gunned down in Agusan del Sur
MANILA, Philippines—Two Indian nationals were shot dead by an unidentified suspect on board a motorcycle in Agusan del Sur early Tuesday, police said Wednesday.
The victims, identified as Manjeat Singh, 27 years old, and Sukhinder Singh, 26 years old, both businessmen and residents of P-7, Poblacion, Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province, were riding their motorcycle when they were shot several times by the suspect as they were about to leave the Espina Rice Mill in the said area, CARAGA Regional Police Spokesman Martin Gamba.
The suspect immediately fled towards unknown direction after killing the Indians, Gamba said.
According to Gamba, the suspect may have been around 20 meters away from the victims when he fired his gun.
The victims were rushed to Bunawan District Hospital , Bunawan, Agusan del Sur by the responding Trento police. However, both victims were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, Gamba said.
Five bullet shells believed to be from a caliber .45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene. Further investigation is now underway for the possible identification and arrest of the suspect, Gamba said. Jamie Marie Elona, INQUIRER.net
