Peacemaker in QC brawl killed; wife, son wounded

A woman and her 11-year-old son remained in the hospital on Tuesday, two days after being stabbed in a street riot involving at least seven other persons in Quezon City.

The brawl that erupted in the afternoon of Nov. 26 at Sitio Kislap, Barangay Greater Fairview, led to the death of the woman’s husband, who only tried to break up the fight, according to the Quezon City Police District.

Lucresia Madlangsakay, 50, was in stable condition after being stabbed twice in the body.

Her son, however, was still in critical condition for a stab wound in the chest.

Madlangsakay’s husband Michael, 33, died also after being stabbed allegedly by JR Labado, one of the brawlers.

Lucresia and her son were also attacked when they tried to defend Michael.

Labado remains at large while five men and a woman have been arrested for involvement in the fight, which reportedly stemmed from a feud between two families, the QCPD said. —Jhesset O. Enano
