Out of the more than 7,000 aspiring lawyers admitted to take the Bar, only 6,750 are set to complete the 2017 Bar examinations, the Supreme Court (SC) said Sunday.
According to the data from the SC Office of the Bar Confidant, out of the 7,227 who were admitted by the SC to take the examinations, 468 did not pursue taking the test on the first Sunday, while nine more did not continue on the second and third Sundays.
Despite the number of absentees, the number of Bar takers this year is still higher than the previous year’s 6,831.
The examinations cover eight subjects, namely: Political Law, Civil Law, Taxation, Labor Law, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, Mercantile Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics. /je
