15 hurt in Quezon road mishap

LUCENA CITY – At least 15 persons were injured in a vehicular accident along the Quirino Highway in Tagkawayan town in Quezon province early Wednesday, local authorities said.

A report from Tagkawayan disaster risk reduction management office stated that as the Bicol-bound Philtranco Bus was descending the curved portion of the highway in Barangay (village) Cecilia at around 2:35 a.m., its driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to slide and rest on its left side along the side of the road.

Rescuers brought the 15 injured passengers to Ma. Lourdes District Hospital.

The report said the bus suffered mechanical trouble.  /kga
