Spa hit by 3 a.m. robbery
Armed robbers barged inside a massage parlor in Makati City before dawn on Monday and stole the employees’ cell phones.
A report from Senior Supt. Gerardo Umayao, city police chief, said two men entered the Nuat Thai branch on Malugay Street, Barangay San Antonio, at 3 a.m.
Held at gunpoint, the employees were forced to hand over four cell phones to the robbers, who fled in a black Hyundai car.
No one was able to note down the license plate of the vehicle.
The Makati police had earlier advised business owners to hire security personnel after several establishments were robbed between January and February.
The incidents drew the ire of Mayor Abby Binay and Director Oscar Albayalde, chief of the National Capital Region Police Ofifice, who said the spate of robberies was one of the reasons for the relief of then Makati police chief, Senior Supt. Milo Pagtalunan. —Dexter Cabalza
