President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday denied that he would establish a revolutionary government if threats to topple him from power would continue.
“We serve to protect the people at ang ating bayan, to preserve the republic. Wag kayong maniwala yang mga kudeta, revolutionary [government], kudeta wala tayong makuha dyan. Let us build a country,” he said in a speech before wounded soldiers at the Army General Hospital in Taguig City.
In his second speech at the Bonifacio High Street in Taguig where he gave honor to soldiers who fought in Marawi City, he reiterated he has no plans to declare a revolutionary government.
“Revolutionary government, coup d’etat, malayo iyan. Huwag ‘nyo intindihan iyan. Hindi ako mag-martial law. Hindi ako mag-revolutionary government,” he said.
