Petitions vs drug war must be dismissed, says Solicitor General Calida

/ 03:06 PM November 21, 2017

The consolidated petitions seeking to stop the government’s war on drugs is like a hodgepodge of causes of actions that ought to be dismissed, Solicitor General Jose Calida told reporters Tuesday.

Calida is at the Supreme Court to defend the Philippine National Police’s circular giving the go-signal to Oplan Double Barrel which human rights groups said is unconstitutional.

“The petitions have no factual basis,” Calida told reporters, adding that it is full of procedural infirmities.

The oral argument at the Supreme Court on the government’s war on drugs policy is ongoing. /je
