The Christmas season officially began at Greenhills Shopping Center with the opening of the Christmas Village, a seasonal attraction inside the mall depicting a brightly-lit miniature scale village comprised of Santa’s Workshop, Chocolate Factory, Gingerbread House, Mrs. Claus Daycare and North Pole Post Office.
Located inside V-Mall, the dazzling display instantly transformed the popular shopping destination — known for tiangges, IT shops and fashion stops — into a wonderland of holiday lights and ornaments that uplift the mood of shoppers and visitors.
“We’re bringing in the holiday mood at Ortigas Malls, and specifically at Greenhills Shopping Center through the Christmas Village with its unique design elements that mix the familiar and the grand and combine the spectacular with the magical,” says Renee Bacani, Ortigas & Company’s vice president, during the unveiling of the Christmas Village.
Ortigas Malls has, in the meantime, done away with the traditional Christmas on Display because of development in the area, but company officials assure Greenhills patrons that the spirit of Christmas stays in the mall.
During the unveiling of the Christmas Village, students from San Perfecto Day Care Center had the first experience of exploring the village sections, and having their photo taken inside the miniature houses together with Ortigas & Company’s officials and San Juan Mayor Guia Gomez. The children also received early Christmas gifts.
Aside from the Christmas Village, other exciting activities are scheduled in the mall in the coming weeks, which include a meet-and-greet with Santa at his Santa workshop every weekend of December, Mrs. Claus Bazaar, and Night Market, which will run until Jan. 7, 2018.
