Kalimudan Festival
An ethnic festival in Isulan, the capital of Sultan Kudarat province. The event showcases culture of the indigenous groups Manobo, Tiruray and T’boli, including their songs, dances and traditional clothing. Locals join in the activities such as agribusiness fair, agricultural and fishery congress, indigenous peoples’ day and music competition.
Nov. 19 to 26
Adivay Festival
One of the most-awaited celebrations in the province of Benguet includes a grand “cañao” (native feast), where pigs and cows are offered to the native gods and ancestors. The theme of this year’s festival is “Benguet Culture: Our Future: Sustaining Cultural Identity Amid Global Changes.”
Nov. 20 to 25
Mimaropa Festival
Mimaropa, which stands for the provinces of Mindoro (Occidental and Oriental), Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan, celebrates its indigenous arts, native cuisine and agriculture industry. This year’s festivities will be held in Odiongan, Romblon province.
