Sen. Cynthia Villar on Monday warned the public against a bogus raffle promo using the name of her family’s foundation, the Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation (Villar Sipag), which promises house and lots to winners.
Villar said the promo, circulating via text messages and on social media, even included permit numbers from the Department of Trade and Industry and the name of a person claiming to be her lawyer or secretary.
“However, we would like to inform the public that Villar Sipag has no ongoing raffle promos or contests,” the senator said.
The misleading post on Facebook under a fake page named “Villar Foundation Libreng Pabahay 2018” invites people to like and share it to qualify for the alleged raffle promo that supposedly will run until Dec. 31. —Jocelyn R. Uy
